Our Banking & Finance practice group is recognized as a leading team in Oman and comprises a dedicated team of lawyers with extensive experience and expertise in domestic and international financing transactions covering both conventional and Islamic financing.

Our team is well-versed in the full spectrum of local and cross-border banking and finance transactions, acting for major international and domestic entities, inclusive of acquisition finance, corporate finance, re-financing, debt restructuring, project finance, corporate debt issuances (both in Omani Rial and foreign currencies) and other financing arrangements. We have extensive experience in structuring, documenting, executing and advising both financiers and borrowers/issuers, and adopt a pragmatic, efficient and commercially focused approach in assisting parties to reach agreement and close the transactions in a timely manner.

We are on the panel of a number of local banks and financial institutions and are often consulted for advice on various aspects of their operations and documentations, being very familiar with their approach of analyzing and negotiating financing transactions and very much aware of what financiers look for in considering the bankability of a given transaction. We have also extensive experience in the preparation of Islamic financing instruments involving multiple Shari’a principles on behalf of Islamic financial institutions. We work closely with Shari’a scholars and advisors in devising both practical and unique Shari’a structures to facilitate various funding objectives and often play a crucial role in ensuring that these Shari’a structures are workable form he legal and regulatory perspective.

We also play an important part in the development of the financing and debt capital market in Oman market and are frequently consulted by clients to provide advice on new innovative products and financing structures.
