Anwaar is specialized in drafting all types of lawsuits and defenses including without limitation, civil, commercial, labour & employment, real estate issues, administrative, banking, and criminal, cheques lawsuits, and financial claims including defense papers, appeals and cassation.
Anwaar is also tasked with advising legal, commercial a compliance issues, registration of a trademark, notice of opposition, renewal of registration of a trademark, restoration of trademark, passing-off, anti-counterfeiting actions, certificate of the register about posed assignments registered trademarks, registration of the registered user, cancellation of entry of a registered user of trademark, search, litigation, drafting of documents, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights including rights relating to trademarks, copyrights, patents, and designs.
Anwaar worked at the Oman Ministry of Legal Affairs for more than 10 years as a member of the Ministerial Committee for the Extension of the Continental Shelf of the Sultanate of Oman assigned in preparing and supervising the claim to extend its continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles before the International Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf. Further, Anwaar is also a member of the detailed study of the Nuclear Power Option in the GCC in the Ministry of Legal Affairs for the development of the strategy to generate electricity and desalinate water. She was also assigned in reviewing and studying contracts and treaties that the entities of the state’s administrative body are willing to sign. The other role lies in preparing the projects of Royal Decrees and laws before their issuance as well as giving official legal opinions and interpretation of the laws in the Sultanate. She also represented the government in the disputes that arise from the contracts it signs, besides representing the Sultanate in international and regional organizations and conferences in the field of legal affairs. Her mandate included progressively more responsible regulatory roles and administrative law matters, including serving as Deputy Head of the Section of International Treaties and Cooperation in the General Directories of Legal Affairs, on an ad hoc basis.
Anwaar has also acted as the senior legal advisor in the Ministry of Finance in reviewing the Omani Tender Law and participated in the drafting committee and the concession agreements for the operation and management of the Port of Duqm.
Anwaar has participated in the review, re-drafting, and amendment of a number of regulations and proposed laws, including a comprehensive review and recommendations concerning portions of the Oman tender law. She has drafted Ministerial Decrees and participated in “working groups” providing recommendations to the Majis Al Shurah and other governmental bodies.
